Kaleidoscope is the latest album by NZ composer/musician Julie Bevan.
Julie has a long-standing connection with Brazil. Its unique music and original styles serve as inspiration to Julie’s multicultural compositions. Many of the tracks on this album were composed and
recorded in Brazil.
“Kaleidoscope” is an eclectic album with flamenco, jazz, kiwi and Brazilian music styles, all vying for the listeners attention. It draws on all the musical experiences and styles of music Julie has been involved in over the years.
Six tracks were composed in Brazil and were recorded there in August 2018. The remaining four tracks were composed and recorded in Wellington in November 2018. Musicians from both Brazil and New Zealand participated on this album. They bring their unique insights into the music.

Among her other collaborations, Julie also appears on the Confluence Quintet tracks of Other Islands: 2012-2018 and in the non-idiomatic idiom in Norway.
